It’s a course that rewards the golf strategists but if you keep the ball in play you still have a great chance of picking up a good score on each hole. If you find the rough off the tee or with a long iron shot, you will have a follow-up shot that will be hard to control coming out of the rough. If you get the hang of the rough early on, you will be presented with very good scoring opportunities on the back nine.
There is a great variety on offer at County Louth too as holes rarely run in the same direction twice. This makes a windy day more enjoyable as you are creating several different shots throughout the 18 holes. There are no weak holes on this course. It is consistent, fair, and pure and is accessible for golfers of all levels.
There is no doubt that County Louth Golf Club should be on every East of Ireland golf itinerary.
This is a very friendly links course both on the course and off. It is a great course to hone your links play and offers a very refreshing 18 holes of golf.
