The Top 3 things you need to know
- 1. Book well in advance
The best golf courses book up in record time, and for you to secure the tee times you want, we advise planning your trip well in advance, at least 12 months ahead of time. If you’re considering a golf trip to Ireland in 2025, you should be in the planning stage now. This means simply that you will have more options available to you, and will be able to craft an itinerary that meets all your desires! The early bird catches the worm as the saying goes. We can attest to that – the number of visitors coming to Ireland, North and South, to play golf is growing exponentially every year. So that means more pressure on the popular golf courses, and unfortunately, sometimes, disappointment when our guests can’t secure a golf course that they have had their heart set on playing. Trust us, if you’re even considering a trip in 2025, drop us a line now and we can secure these tee times for you – you can always change them down the line if your plans change! it’s better to have the options than scrambling last minute and getting tee times that don’t suit your plans.
- 2. Decide on your trip priorities
If golf is the priority, then great, we can help you design a golf vacation that will be truly incredible. But what if you want to sample the best of Irish Dining? or visit some historic sites? Well, we can help with that too. Our team design amazing vacation itineraries for clients day in and day out, and they can advise you on how best to incorporate these elements into your trip. Our Travel Advisors are intimately familiar with travel times and distances between golf courses, how much time you should assign for each course, and all the best spots nearby to eat and drink. Take out a map and mark out the courses you would like to play, and then see what’s nearby of interest – better still, just ask our team to do that for you. It’s also worth factoring in the weather – which in Ireland is notoriously unpredictable. For example, we’ve had lots of rain here in Ireland this March, so much so that lots of courses are currently closed! So you need to be aware that the weather here can impact play. We always advise guests to prepare for rain, but our team will advise you of the best time of the year to visit, to play the courses that you’re hoping to play. May and September are traditionally great months to visit, with long days of light, mild temperatures and pretty consistent conditions.
